Samuel Shavers Obituary

A resident of Baton Rouge and native of Zachary, he died Tuesday morning, Jan. 5, 2010, at Capitol House Nursing Home at age 41. Visiting at St. John Baptist Church, 820 New Rafe Mayer Road, Alsen, on Saturday, Jan. 16, from 9 a.m. until religious service at 11 a.m., conducted by Donald R. Ruth, pastor. Interment in Southern Memorial Gardens. Survived by his mother, Annette A. Bindon, of Baton Rouge; father and stepmother, Sam D. Shavers Sr. and Cynthia Shavers; sisters, Marcelle Shavers, of Zachary, and Tiffany Shavers and Roxanna Williams, both of Baton Rouge; brothers and spouses, Marcus and Kawanda Shavers, of Zachary, Samuel Paul and Ashely Shavers, of Baton Rouge. Preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, the Rev. Willie Sr. and Rosa Lee Shavers; maternal grandparents, Charlie Sr. and Ida Allen; stepfather, Robert Bindon. The family would like to thank the doctors and staff at North Oaks Medical Center and North Lake Support Center of Hammond, Baton Rouge General Medical Center-Mid City, and Capitol House Nursing Home.
