John LeCoq Obituary

John David LeCoq passed away on Saturday, February 22, 2014, at the age of 56. He was born in New Roads, Louisiana on September 23, 1957, grew up in Morganza, LA, and a proud graduate of Morganza High School. He had been a resident of San Antonio, Texas, since 2001. He is survived by his wife, Dana Burchfield LeCoq; his mother, Dorothy LeCoq; brother, Stanley LeCoq and wife, Sharon; nephew Alan LeCoq and wife, Dawn; nephew, Christopher LeCoq; nieces Trisha LeCoq and Kaylie Burchfield; great-nephews Coleman, Parker and Avery LeCoq; and his beloved great-niece, Ava Nicole Burchfield. He was preceded in death by his father, Larry D. LeCoq. John David was a member of the Morganza Knights of Columbus, and served as Grand Knight. He was also a charter member of the Antoine Blanc Fourth Degree Assembly. John David loved writing, his garden, LSU baseball, Walt Disney World and most of all his four-legged fur babies Casey, Suzie, BW, Sophie, Gracie and Lucas. He was a wonderful husband, son, brother, uncle, and friend. He will be greatly missed. Visiting will be held at Niland's Funeral Home in New Roads on Thursday February 27, 2014 from 6 pm until 9 pm and on Friday February 28, 2014 at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Morganza from 9 am until Mass of Christian Burial in the church at 11 am. Conducted by Rev. Keun Soo Lee. Interment in St. Ann Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Alan, Christopher and Kerrell LeCoq, Roger Mix, Chip Shirah and Jimmy Laurent. Honorary pallbearers are Leslie LeCoq and Dewey Shirah.

JD, Life is sometimes difficult but, what helps me and im sure alot of other people is when we cross paths in our lives with someone as special a you. You are a very special person with your great stories and funny personality. I was very lucky to have worked with you for the short time i did. The guy with the great last name and a personaity to match. Miss you buddy see you soon but not to soon.
