Edward Gonzales Obituary

Edward M. "Pro" Gonzales, 80, passed away Saturday, Oct. 2, 2010 in Salinas.
He was born Oct. 13, 1929, was a lifelong resident of Gonzales, and was often seen walking around town with his cane and his granddaughter, Natasha. He was an avid golfer and gambler. He loved his BBQ and his "nip". Mr. Gonzales proudly served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict, and had participated in the Berlin Airlift.
He is survived by daughters, Lisa Gonzales of Gonzales, and Monique Gonzales of Los Angeles; sons, Anthony and Richard Gonzales, both of Gonzales; Granddaughter Natasha Lugo of Gonzales, sisters, Connie Berglund of Livermore, Frances Serna of Bakersfield, and Ramona Serna of Milpitas; brothers, George Espinoza of Chicago, Il, Jimmy Espinoza of Grass Valley, Frank Gonzales of San Francisco, Raymond Quiroz of Cottonwood and Jesse Quiroz of Manteca, along with numerous nieces, nephews and other loving relatives.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Maria Ramona Gonzales, and brother Tony Quiroz; his beloved cat "Chakotay" and beloved dog "Tuna".
Visitation: Thursday, Oct. 7, from 5 to 9 p.m. at St. Theodore's Catholic Church, 125 Center St., Gonzales.
Rosary: Thursday, Oct. 7, at 7 p.m. at the church.
Funeral Mass: Friday, Oct. 8, at 10 a.m. at St. Theodore's Catholic Church.
Final Resting Place: Burial with Military Honors will be held at Gonzales District Cemetery, Hwy 101 S., Gonzales, Calif. 93926.
