Salvatore Giordano Obituary
Sal was born in New London, on March 26, 1930, the son of Rosario and Catherine (Sylvester) Giordano. He was the widower of Helen (Beebe) Giordano whom he married at St. Mary's Church in New London.
Sal graduated in the Class of 1949 from Robert E. Fitch Sr. High School and also from New London Business College. He retired after 30 years of employment from Pfizer in Groton. He was an active member of the Italian American Citizens Club in Groton and the Groton Senior Center.
Sal is survived by his daughter, Sharon Giordano of Groton; and his sisters, Nancy Niedbalski of Waterford and Virginia Robarge of Groton.
He was predeceased by his brother, Tony; and his sister, Rosalie.
His family will receive relatives and friends from 9 until 9:45 a.m. Friday, at Byles-Groton Memorial Home, 310 Thames St., Groton and proceed to a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m., at Sacred Heart Church, 50 Sacred Heart Drive, Groton. Interment will be in St. Mary Cemetery, New London.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be directed to the Italian American Citizens Club, 322 Mitchell St., Groton, CT 06340 or a charity of the donor's choice.
