Aunt Mary and cousins Beth, Bonnie, Brita and Briana
Your husband and Dad was most proud of you all and you were the inspiration of his life. It is warming to read that his legacy and gift of music has been passed onto to so many people/former students who in turn have passed his gift along to others. His legacy will endure in others for countless years to come and this is the finest tribute to him. My thoughts and prayers are with you and I am proud to carry his name.

Dear Mrs. Brundage--- Mr. Brundage made me feel like a star at New London High School. I was a student when he decided to start a strings program. I was already an accomplished violin player but he inspired me to continue playing violin and even mandolin today. The best memory I have of Mr. Brundage was when I won the NLHS band booster award. A few days earlier I was not selected to win the strings award Mr. B pulled me aside and made sure I was ok telling me that were other awards. I was shocked that morning at the annual Awards assembly when he told me not to leave the stage and stay right there and my name was announced for the booster award.
I am an educator and I often remember how he approached those situations and apply them in my own classroom. Thanks Mr. Brundage for your lessons inspired me to be a foreign language teacher.

Mr. Brundage taught me how to play the tenor sax....only lessons I ever had! I played at West Side then Fitch and ended up playing at Shea Stadium for the NY Jets while in college at URI....and still play in a band today. Thank you, Sir! Captain Dottie Reed, USN....still playing and still serving.

Dear Mrs. Brundage and family,
In 1978, Mr. Brundage told me, "If you learn the bass guitar, you can play in the stage band next year." I learned the instrument and spent my afternoons junior and senior years playing jazz with some great musicians and "Mr. Howie" at the baton. Great times that I'll never forget.
Fast forward more than 30 years and I'm still pluckin' the fat strings, now in a jazz trio. From friends' garages and basements to Boston rock clubs to elementary school musicals, the bass has rarely left my side in all these years. It centers me in hard times and elevates my glad times. It is a source of peace and contentment, and an outlet for my creativity.
Few things in my life mean more to me than my relationship with music and my instrument. Thanks, Mr. Brundage, for giving me that chance, that break, that "first gig." You truly made a difference in my life. (NLHS Class of '81)

Mrs. Brundage and Family:
I am Mike Himes, class of '77 NLHS. Mr. Brundage was always a gentle and honorable man. He had such patience. I didn't own a decent trumpet in High School. Howard loaned me his Bach Stradivarius for four years. I don't know many people who would have done that. He put up with a lot from me and my goofy friends. But, he loved us and I gave him all I had on the trumpet. I am a musician to this day and continue to teach kids. My heartfelt prayers are with you.

Psalm 33:2-3 "Praise the Lord with the harp; make music to him on the ten-stringed lyre. Sing to Him a new song; play skillfully, and shout for joy."
Thanks to Mr Brundage's work here, many of us are able to sing and play skillfully.
For almost 50 years now I have not been able to listen to Beethoven's 5th and not think of Mr Brundage.
Thank you and rest in peace.

Dear Mary,
I was saddened to learn of Howard'd death. I have so many fond memories. One in particular is that of his red velvet jacket and the singing of White Christmas at New London High's Christmas Concert. Those were the Golden Years. My deepest sympathies to you and your family.

I am greatly saddened by the news of Mr Brundage's passing. He was the most inspirational and remembered teacher I have ever had. I have missed him over the years, I will miss him even more now.
He is the one person who kept me playing my music all these years, I so wanted to give it up during high school. But it was not just the music he helped me with, and that is the part I will always remember.
As men go, he was the best. As teachers go, he was even better. As a horn player, he was inspiring.
Thank you, Mr Brundage. God Bless.

Thoughts and prayers are with you at this sad time. I worked with Howard at Millstone and he was always positive. Such a warm person who started our days out with a smile. Until I just read his obituary, I had no idea how many others he had touched in his lifetime. May you find comfort in knowing his life definitely had a purpose and he will forever be in many hearts.

I had the pleasure of working with Howard at Millstone for a few years. He always had a smile on his face, even when he was on his way to "burn an eyeball". You couldn't get in a conversation with Howard without hearing about his family, his music, or his Yankees. He was a very special person who's life should be celebrated and envied by all. Mr Brundage was my music teacher from 1980-1984 and I was in New London High School's Band, Stage Band and Orchestra; needless to say he was a huge part and influence in my life throughout high school and beyond. He had a joy for life and a passion for educating that was inspiring which will be my lasting memory of him. A world in which he is no longer a part of is just a little bit sadder and bit more dull. It saddens me immensely to know that he is no longer with us, but I find comfort in the fact that there can be no more suitable eternal resting place for Mr. Brundage than in a heavenly choir. I'm certain that he entered heaven singing.

To Mrs. Brundage and family: I am so sorry for your loss and wish you God's peace. About Mr. Brundage--what a guy! He taught me trumpet when I was 12 and bundled a bunch of kids with horns and such into a marching band for West Side Junior High. He was a teacher and cared so much for us all. The world is better for him being with us.

Dear Mary & Family,
May God comfort you in your time of sorrow. I worked with Howard for 9 years at the former Naval Undersea Warfare Center. He was very special to me because he was always so friendly, helpful, and considerate. I cannot count the times he "took the gate", during inclement weather, insisting that I and other security officers stay inside out of the harsh elements. He would often bring Dunkin Donuts coffee for the entire shift, and in the summer months, run down to Michael's Dairy to get each of us our favorite milkshake. Oh, Howard was a true gem and gentleman! He delighted us all with stories of his students, and of his family, whom no one could deny he loved and adored. He was so proud of his daughters and their accomplishments. I especially enjoyed the stories of his youth, and his days of playing ice hockey, and how he spoke of his Mom and her love for the New York Mets! Howard, thank you for the friendship, advice, and kindness. You will never be forgotten dear friend - Rest In Peace.

Mrs. Brundage, my thoughts and prayers go out to you and your daughters during this difficult time. I was a student in your 8th grade English class @ New London Junior High School(school year 1981/1982). I was a violinist for your husband, in New London High School(1982-83 until 1985-86). I remember you both fondly. Your husband was a very special man. He challenged us and inspired my love of classical and contemporary music. He will be missed by many.
