James Cheeseman Obituary
He was born Nov. 9, 1931, in Bell Fountain, Ohio, one of nine children to Ernest and Sara Ellen Cheeseman. Mr. Cheeseman served 20 years in the U.S. Navy, was a world class softball pitcher and spent 20 years working for General Dynamics in Groton. He retired to Malta, Mont. to enjoy the outdoors.
He was a beloved father to four children, Robert Cheeseman (Denise), Vicky Gale (Alan), Karen Bowerman (Marc) and his peanut, Denise Welsh (Neil); 13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
He always had a joke to tell and never met a stranger.
There will be a private family service in Malta, Mont. at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be made in his honor to Big Bend Hospice House, 1723 Mahan Center Blvd., Tallahassee, Fl 32308.
Bevis Funeral Home of Tallahassee (850/385-2193, www.bevisfh.com) is assisting the family with their arrangements.

My condolences to the Cheeseman Family. I played F.P. Softball with Jim when he first started pitching. I caught many games with Jim on the NAVY SUBASE Team & later at EB. He was one of the best pitchers I caught.

when I was a kid,i would go down to Washington park in Groton to watch him pitch.Also ,Jim worked out at Midway with me for Electric Boat.Jim was a fine man.I'am sorry for your loss.

My condolences to the Cheeseman family. Jim was a great person. The best fastpitch pitcher I ever played against. Many great memories of him from the Subbase and EB. Sorry to read of his passing.

Cheeseman family; You are in my thoughts and prayers. Jim and I worked together at EB. He was great fun to be with, we would talk baseball for hours. I remember the time he wrapped a bunch of rags together with EB green to make a softball to shows how to throw a drop, boy did that hurt.
