Myrtle Lamb Obituary

Ledyard - Myrtle L. (Sykes) Lamb, 86, of Ledyard, wife of 64 years to Walter E. Lamb, died Sunday, Aug. 4, 2013, at Fairview in Groton.

Born in Henderson, N.C., she was the daughter of the late William and Fannie (Viola) Sykes.

In addition to her husband, she leaves a sister, Gladys Schmidt of Port St. Lucie, Fla.; sister-in-law, Fran Sykes of North Carolina; numerous nieces and nephews; and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was predeceased by her son, Richard E. Lamb.

Myrtle enjoyed crocheting, especially the beautiful afghans she would make.

Calling hours will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 7, at Mystic Funeral Home, Route 1, Mystic. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Ledyard Congregational Church, 722 Colonel Ledyard Highway. Burial will follow at Lambtown Cemetery in Ledyard.
