William Prentice Obituary
He was born Apri1 29, 1945, in New London, the son of the late Winslow and Dorothy (Skipworth) Prentice. He attended local schools in Waterford and was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War. Mr. Prentice was employed for the Town of Waterford for 39 years, operating heavy equipment in the Waterford landfill, retiring in 2002. He enjoyed trains and trucks such as heavy equipment.
He is survived by seven children, Billie Jo Prentice-Yoder of South Carolina, Laura Lee Prentice of Oakdale, William Prentice Jr. of New London, Sasha Prentice of Norwich, Coty Prentice, Kyle Prentice and Dylan Prentice all of Waterford. Two brothers, Robert Prentice of Waterford, and Ronald Prentice of Maryland; and eighteen grandchildren. He is also survived by his lady, Beverly Swanson, whom he made his home with.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, in The Jordan Cemetery with military honors.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to St. Jude's Children Research Hospital, P.O. Box 3704, Memphis, TN 38173-9966.
The Impellitteri-Malia Funeral Home, 84 Montauk Ave., New London, has been entrusted with the funeral service.

The time has come you got your wings dad I miss you already although our time together was short I love you more than words can describe I know you are at peace now and that will give me peace!
I Thank God We got to spend time together & I am Humbled that through reuniting with you, I was able to have met all of my Siblings and Bev and be able to continue building memories of you through spending time with each of them. Uncle Bill, you did so much for me growing up, and took me in when I had no where else to go. I'm so glad I got to see you in the hospital before you went, and I told you I'd see you later. I will see you later, I don't know when, but I'll see you again. I'm so happy your pay loader was at your service, you partnered with that thing for many many years and it came to say its last farewell to you. I can't help but feel that you were sitting right up in the cab looking down on all of us while we said our goodbyes to you. I never knew you were in the army, it was amazing to have those soldiers there to honor your service, and salute you with arms, and the farewell bugle song. I love you Uncle Bill, I won't ever forget you, or the memories I have of you when I was growing up. I always thought about you, and how you were doing, but our family isn't really in constant contact with each other to the point where I could ask about you. I'll say hey, every single day I drive by your grave like I do with grandma and grandpa, love always ~ your nephew Dakota

Hey You, Yeah You, we miss you. Every one loves that picture of you but they probably don't know the picture for the paper was acually a paused video of you from Faiths birthday party. Just seconds before you were sticking your tongue out at me, and laughing.
