Norwich - Darius Avant Bishop of Norwich, died Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2012, in Bozrah.
Darius was born Jan. 20, 1984, in Brooklyn, N.Y., to Kenneth L. Bishop Jr. and Angela S. Bishop. He was the oldest of two brothers, Jordan Vaughn Bishop, and Adriel Sarad Bishop. Darius was a graduate of Ledyard High School, and had a zest for life. He enjoyed playing basketball, working out in the gym, music, dancing, movies, video games, and getting together with his friends.
Darius was a spiritual person. He was raised as one of Jehovah's Witnesses. He spent most of his life learning about Jehovah God's purpose for mankind and the earth, and dedicated his life to teaching others about God's will. For the last couple of years, Darius had not been one of Jehovah's Witnesses. However, because of his love for Jehovah God and his family, he had begun to attend meetings again at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses.
He is survived by his parents; two brothers; one great-grandparent; three grandparents; a host of uncles, aunts, great-uncles and great-aunts, and cousins; and countless friends.
Darius will be dearly missed by those who knew him. We await the time when we would see him again in the resurrection here on earth in a beautiful paradise environment when Jehovah God will wipe out every tear from our eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain will be anymore, as promised in the Bible at Revelation 21:4.
