John Megyesy Obituary
He was born to the late John and Ida Megyesy of Pennsylvania,
He was predeceased by Frances, his wife of 31 years, and their eldest son, John; and his brothers, Norman and Clarence.
John is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Rosalie "Rose"; his son, James and daughter-in-law, Janice, of Massachusetts; grandsons, Joshua and his wife, Rachel, Justin, and Jonathan; as well as two great-granddaughters, Ruby and Hazel. Additionally he is survived by Rosalie's children, Phillip, Kelley, Corey, and Robert; and grandchildren Holly, Chris, and Kyera; and a sister, Ida of Pennsylvania.
He served in the Pennsylvania National Guard for three years followed by two years with the U.S. Army in the Military Police. John worked his entire life in construction on Fishers Island, N.Y., and was an avid hunter and aviator.
Services will be private, and donations may be sent to Hospice Southeastern Connecticut, 227 Dunham St., Norwich, CT 06360.

Our condolences to you and your beautiful family. I will never forget the lessons I've learned about the importance of laughter and unconditional love,on a daily basis, from John and you. I am truly blessed to have had the opportunity to have spent time with John, almost always by your side. I will always remember his humor and his wonderful grin!! I am so grateful and blessed to have you as a wonderful friend. You are a dignified and gracious person,Rose.
