Mary Valach Obituary

Mystic - Mary Frances (Bolner) Valach, 48, died peacefully at her home in Mystic, Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2012, in the presence of her family.

She was born in New Orleans, La., March 18, 1964, daughter of the late Richard and Phyllis Bolner. Mary Frances grew up in Metairie, La. with a love of music, great food and friends. She has been a resident of Mystic for the past 18 years. Ten of those years were spent as an employee of General Dynamics Electric Boat in Groton.

Although her home was in Connecticut, her heart was always in the "Big Easy" New Orleans. She shared the zest and hospitality from the roots of her heritage. Mary was a great mother, sister, aunt and friend. She will truly be missed.

Mary is survived by her beautiful daughter, Alexandra Julia Valach; sister, Stephanie (Bolner) Tupper of New London; and brother, Rick Bolner and wife, Robin, of Austin, Texas.

She will be memoralized Monday, Aug. 13, 2012, at Dinoto Funeral Home, 17 Pearl St., Mystic. A service will start at 6 p.m. with visitation until 8 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CT Animal House, P.O. Box 343, Waterford, CT 06385.

My sweet baby sister,
The ceremony last night was perfect. You would have been so proud. All of your family and friends were there to bid you farewell and to thank you for all of the great times you shared with them. Don't worry about Alex, Steve is a great dad and he will take care of her.

Best of all, I know I will see you again at the gathering together. My comfort is in God's promise to me. But we talked about all of His love to you and you knew that you were His and have eternal life. Until then...

I will always love you,
Steph

Take comfort in the fact that she is in a better place watching over us. I'm sorry I cannot be there for the memorial service today. Y'all are in my thoughts and prayers at this sad time.

Mary - because of her I am kinder, more giving, more accepting, more forgiving, more appreciative, more loving -- and even funnier. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Stephanie and Rick, I extend my deepest and most solemn condolences to you and hope you are comforted in knowing Mary is now united in heaven with your mom and dad, and all other loved ones. God bless you.

To Mary's Family, Please accept my deepest sympathy for your loss. Mary and I worked together at Ralph and Kacoos and my goodness did we have fun. I met my husband one night when I was with her. I even had her jeans on that I borrowed that night. I truly miss and love Mary.

I feel blessed just to have known Mary. I saw her about 4 months ago when she popped into "Aunt Doris and Uncle Charlie's house" where I now work. I am so glad that we got a chance to hug and laugh together. I will always cherish all of the times that the "Sturgis Street Kids" spent together. Please know that Mary, the Bolner and Valach families will always be in my heart and prayers.

Although I have only known Mary for a short time, it was easy to see she was a very lovely lady! I always enjoyed our casual chats and her visits to the tanning salon with Alex and her niece. My thoughts and prayers go out to her family. With deepest sympathy.

Mary and I dated a couple/three times back in the early '90s. I met her when she worked at the Mystic Hilton. She was pretty within. I'm so sorry to see this...God bless her soul.

Alex, Steve and family, we are so sorry for your loss. Mary was like a 2nd Mom to Olivia and a good friend to my entire family (Nonni included). We've all enjoyed (and will continue to remember) the precious time we were able spend with Mary (i.e., trip to NYC, Boston, softball games, etc.). Please let us know if there is anything we can do to help during this difficult time. Mary - rest in peace; you will be greatly missed! Kevin, Danielle and Olivia
