Richard Sebastian Obituary
He was born in New York, N.Y., on Nov. 28, 1934, a son of the late Clifford Cyrus Sebastian and Mabel L. Wilcox Perry Sebastian.
He is survived by his wife, Mary E. (Jerome) Sebastian; his children, Don Ricardo Sebastian Sr. and Amondo Jacquontee Sebastian, both of Mashantucket, Lisa Andrea Sebastian-Brant of Peace Dale, R.I., Mark Anthony Sebastian of Charlestown, R.I., Cynthia Sebastian-Welch and Tanisha Seba Sebastian, both of Mashantucket; two step-children, Lisa (Jerome) Hayes and Jason Jerome; a sister, Juanita Reels of Mashantucket; 25 grandchildren; and 33 great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his daughter, Ann Marie Sebastian; and his siblings, Myrtis Simmons, Doris LaCorbiniere, Phyllis Sebastian-Waite, Maxine Pinson, Constance Sampson, Evelyn Reels, Vincent A. Sebastian, Clifford C. Sebastian, Emanuel Sebastian, Mason and Harold Champlain, and Catherine Sebastian.
A Graveside Service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, at the Mashantucket Tribal Burial Ground, Fanning Road, Ledyard. There are no visiting hours.
Donations in his memory may be made to The Miriam Hospital Comprehensive Cancer Center, 164 Summit St., Providence, RI 02906-2853.
The Dinoto Funeral Home, 17 Pearl St., historic downtown Mystic, is assisting the family.

Richard and I worked together for a couple of years when I was at Babson Executive Education. He was very kind to invite me and my family to a brunch with Quincy Jones back when the tribe was opening the MGM Grand.
Now that Quincy Jones has passed today, the memory of that brunch comes back to me, along with Richard's kindness in extending the invitation.

To the Sebastian Family: My heart is saddened at the loss of this GREAT MAN! I will miss him dearly but I will also NEVER forget the times that we shared. Thank you for allowing me to spend time with him during his last days. He was a True Warrior until the end and the love and care that Mary and the family provided is an example of what Love is! It is with great sadness that I learned of "Uncle Richard's" passing. My heart goes out to each and everyone of his family members who's life he touch. I consider myself to be lucky to have knows "Uncle Richard", which he allowed me to call him, and at times I felt like I was maybe part of the family. He will be missed by many.

Don and Amondo,
Please know that I too have lost a close friend. Richard worked with me at the Neighborhood Guild, in Peace Dale.....when you were both young. Along with Phyllis, we channeled the energy and leisure time for the local kids, and developed the Teen Clique.
He was a good friend, as you know, having spent many hours at my house planning to assist you kids.....in the early 1970's....
So very sorry for your loss-please convey my condolences to your siblings too....
