Sammie Pinson Obituary
Sammie was born on April 8, 1934. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, where he worked as a cook during the 20 plus years he served his country. He was also a loyal employee of the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Sand & Gravel operation for 20 plus years.
He was predeceased by his loving wife, Margery Maxine (Sebastian) Pinson.
He was also a proud father to Evelyn Pinson; grandfather to Tia Pinson; and great-grandfather to Ernest Jr., Sammie Lee, and Deavon Malcom Pompey, all of Mashantucket. Sammie was loved by numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, great-great nieces, great-great nephews, cousins, and friends. He will be greatly missed by all.
He was also predeceased by his parents, Edward and Betti Pinson; brothers, Goffie L. Pinson and Lee D. Pinson; sisters, Ora Lee Crawford, Luerissie Ross, and Elizabeth Gibson, all of the Houston, Texas area.
Please join the family for the visitation from 11 a.m. to 12 noon on Saturday at the Dinoto Funeral Home, 17 Pearl St., historic downtown Mystic, immediately followed by a Celebration of Life service at noon.
Flowers will be gratefully accepted and may be delivered to the funeral home by 5 p.m. Friday.
