James Condon Obituary
He was born in New York City on Dec. 10, 1937, the son of Joseph Condon and Rose (Nertney) Condon.
James graduated from Cardinal Hayes High School and Manhattan College in 1959, with a bachelor degree in electrical engineering.
He was employed by the Electric Boat division of General Dynamics for thirty-six years, in Deep Submergence Engineering, notably involved in development of the Nuclear Powered Research Vessel NR-1.
James was a proud to be a founding member of the Mystic Highlands Pipe band. He played bagpipes and drums.
He is survived by his nieces, Nancy O'Connor, Kathleen Barnes, and Sheila Lyons.
His sister, Rose Ellen Barnes, died in 1994.
His family will greet relatives and friends from 4 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 28, 2010, at The Dinoto Funeral Home, 17 Pearl Street, Historic downtown Mystic. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. on Monday, March 1, 2010, at St. Patrick Church with interment following at Elm Grove Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the National Niemann-Pick disease Foundation, (www.nnpdf.org).

Is is always sad to receive notification that a Manhatan College alumnus had died. The sadness is compounded when you realize that the deceased had graduated from your high school. We walked the same halls of learning at different times. May James Condon rest in peace.

The Manhattan College alumni community shares the grief, and is now praying for our fellow alumni and the family at this time. The Alumni Office has been informed. As well as the Jasper Jottings community that I personally can reach. We are all a little poorer now. "No man is an island, entire of itself … any man’s death diminishes me". We are sorry for your loss.
