Edward Bruce Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Feb. 21, 2012.
Altamonte Springs, Fla. - Edward "Bud" G. Bruce passed away on Saturday, Feb. 18, 2012, at the age of 78.

Born on Christmas Day 1933, in New Hampshire, Bud was the son of William and Gladys (Curtis) Bruce.

He is survived by his two daughters, Susan of Branford and Teri of Uncasville; two grandchildren, Darcy and Ben; his former wife, Wanda (Walenczyk) Bruce; beloved sister, Lois (Ernest) Centoscudi; his nieces and nephews; and his current wife.

He was predeceased by a brother and sister.

Bud was a lifelong rascal. Joining the Army at the age of 15, he was discharged to his mother's care until he was truly old enough to serve our country in the Navy. Upon honorable discharge, Bud began 35 years with SNET Co. Prior to moving to Florida, he was a proud member of the Montville Board of Education, Montville Polish Club, and Norwich Golf Course.

Bud was a fisherman. He impressively landed a 57 and ¾ pound striped bass on ten-pound test line while surf-casting on Martha's Vineyard. A complicated man who relished a great joke and good Irish whiskey, he was proud of his family, adored the ocean, enjoyed college basketball, and loved cats. He had a lethal wit and a need to laugh, and all each entails.

There will be no formal services.
