He spent much of his time gardening, reading, and playing with his dog, Barney, and cat, Sophie.

Alex was predeceased by his wife, Sophie K. Doucette, and his younger brother, Thomas Doucette.

We have so many good memories of "Uncle Alex" visiting Bellingham in recent years. He was indeed full of life and passionate about learning and heritage and enjoying life to its fullest. As Dad's cousin he became a fun extended member of the family. I'll think of him as we look at his watercolor of a beach scene. We'll miss you, Uncle Alex. with love, Ann, Gary, Gladys, Jane
