I started work at GTE as Al McCaffrey's clerk way back in 1981, and am very saddened to hear of his passing. Al's family and friends meant a great deal to him every minute of every day. I can easily recall his absolute happiness when one of his daughters gave birth back in '81 or '82...and how he ran out to buy flowers to be delivered. The joy on his face was incredibly real and palatable, caught me right up in his happiness. Wish I could remember which daughter/which grandchild but in truth, Al responded like that to every one of them.
I hope the entire family knows that Al's calm nature and the respect that he garnered in his work environment was a reflection of the security he felt with the family he loved and cared for. Al was the type of man that others aspired to become, all of his employees loved him and respected him greatly.

Uncle Al was a true gentleman who always looked out for those he cared about. I will miss his smile, his stories and his sense of humor.

Always Mr.Allan E.McCaffrey was joking and made me relax when I visited him with his daughter Michelle at first. (It was 30 years ago.)
Thank him for his humor and hospitality, and we pray for his peaceful passing away. We the Bais will miss him very much.
