Gordon Lee Goodman, known to most as Lee, passed away September 16, 2010 surrounded by family and loved ones in Indio, Calif. Born March 2, 1952 to Vada Marie and Jesse Carl Goodman, he grew up in Riverside County and moved to the desert to attend Indio High School (1968-69). He and Denise Goodman (Yeakel) had a daughter, Lindsay Goodman, who he raised with absolute love and dedication. A lover of animals and the outdoors, Lee owned a successful landscaping and construction business in the desert area. Above all, he was a good-hearted man who was quickly loved by those lucky enough to cross his path. With a keen sense of justice and fairness, he was a father figure to many young nieces and nephews, the children of his 12 siblings. Lee was a philosopher at heart, always searching for the right path, and he eagerly engaged many in debate. Lee is survived by his daughter, Lindsay Goodman of San Diego; and sisters, Mary Malotte of Palm Desert, Linda Nelson of Banning, and Barbara Francisco of Yucaipa. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Coachella Valley Rescue Mission. Visit www.cvrm.org to donate or send directly to P.O. Box 10660 Indio, California 92202-2564. The arrangements are under the direction of Rose Mortuary. To the many who loved him, he will be dearly missed.

Uncle Lee you were a remarkable uncle to me. You brought so many good things into my life and I will always cherish every single memory I have of you. From spending summers with you and my cousins to eating sushi for the first time. You were there for me so often in my life. Thank you so much for that. I love and miss you so much. I know you and my dad are both in a better place now...at peace.

I was introduced to Lee when I was 16, by my brother, Billy Huxley. He treated me like family from day one. He would give he hell for my bad habits, but never once turned me away. Talk about UNCONDITIONAL LOVE!! You're in my heart forever, Lee, Go with God. Donnie Strand

I was lucky to have you as a brother-in-law for many years after you married my sister Nancy (Stallcop) Goodman. I will miss you as a sensitive, fun and special human being. This family will miss you deeply too. For now, rest in peace in our heavenly father's arms until we see you again.

I'm going to miss him. One time when I was six living at the ranch my cousins and I got in to the chicken feed and made a huge mess and uncle Lee said David I won't be mad just tell me who got into the feed. And I looked around and said anybody but me. And that put a smile on his face. Somthing he always said to me through the years of being around him. I'M GOING TO MISS HIM.

As a fellow Landscape contractor I knew Lee and remember many "interesting" conversations with him. He always had a very positive outlook on life. He will be missed.
