Jean Griffiths, 90, died in Palm Springs, Calif. on September 15, 2010. Jean was born November 12, 1919 to Maude and Charles Comstock in San Francisco, Calif. She worked in San Francisco and Oakland all her life. Jean retired from US Steel after 30 years, she then worked for Bechtel Group for 13 years, and then moved to the Russian River area, where she worked as a hostess for the Russian River Resort. In 2003, Jean moved to Palm Springs with her two close friends and caregivers, Ray and Paul. A celebration of her life will be held at Toucans Tiki Lounge in Palm Springs, Wednesday September 29, 2010 at 3:00 PM, and another at the Rainbow Cattle Company, Thursday October 14, 2010 also at 3:00 PM, in Guerneville, Calif. Donations can be made to your charity of choice, in her name.

We offer our sincerest condolences regarding the loss of Jean...She was truly unique...I'll not only remember her presence around Guerneville, but also her very beautiful blue eyes...

Jean will be remembered to me as a person who took the time and talked outside my place on 3rd St. as she was tooling around town (Gurneville) She treated me great and loved her presence as hostess at the Triple R.
