Jeffrey Robinson Obituary

Jeffrey D. Robinson, 60, of La Quinta, Calif. passed away September 8, 2010 in La Quinta with his brother by his side. He was born December 17, 1947 in South Bend, Ind. to Jack and Mary Robinson. Jeffrey graduated from John Adams High School in South Bend in 1968. He attended Yale University in New Haven, Conn. where he received his BA degree in Economics in 1972 graduating with honors. Prior to his retirement to La Quinta, Jeffrey was Chairman and CEO for Fidelity Trust Company and Vice Chairman for Fidelity Consumer Financial Services. Prior to his career with Fidelity, Jeffrey served as President and CEO for Beneficial Mortgage Corporation and Senior Vice President of Beneficial National Bank in Wilmington, Del. Jeffrey and his brother first visited La Quinta in 1979 and enjoyed many visits to the desert and their time at the La Quinta Hotel where they were golf members. As an avid golfer he enjoyed the game as well as the life lessons the game teaches. He was particularly fond of the Mountain Course at the La Quinta Hotel and Pebble Beach. In addition, Jeffrey was an accomplished guitarist and sailor, and, enjoyed reading, music and gardening. Jeffrey permanently relocated to La Quinta in 1993 upon his retirement. Jeffrey is survived by his brother, Richard of La Quinta; and a sister, Karen of Atlanta, Ga. Jeffrey was a very special and generous person to his friends and family. He was the best brother and friend anyone could have possibly have had and will be fondly remembered and deeply missed.
