Luis Bautista Obituary

Mr. Luis Segura Bautista (Don Luis) passed away on Saturday, October 16, 2010, he was 85 years old. Our father came to the United States from Tonala a suburb of Guadalajara, Jalisco in Mexico when he was 19 years old. He worked in the date industry (Cal Date) for many years. He then moved on to Kaiser Steel mine in Eagle Mountain until the mine closed. He continued working at Meredith & Simpson in Indio until his retirement. Our father was a very intelligent, religious, hard working, humble, gentle and highly respected man. His hobbies included gardening, loved going to home depot and spending time with family and pets, Penny and Duende. After his retirement he would spend part of the year in the states and the other in his hometown of Tonala in Mexico with family where he did a lot of traveling throughout Mexico. He was one of seven siblings and is survived by brother, Gabino Bautista from Puerto Vallarta in Mexico; children, Luis Bautista II, Alice Moreno (Tano) and Vicky Lopez (Roy); grandchildren, Luis III, Estevan and Jessica Bautista, Celeste and Tano (TJ) Moreno Jr., Ricky, Paul, Andrea and Yvonne Sanchez, Jaime Jr. and Jazmine Perez; stepchildren, Jaime Perez Sr. and Guillermo Bautista; as well as 17 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews along with other family members. Our father is preceded in death by wife, Flora; son, Enrique (Ricky) Bautista; and granddaughter, Yvette B. Moreno. Memo, Jaime, Jaimito, Jazmin, Loli you are all very fortunate to have such an incredible person to miss. I love listening to all the stories about Don Luis and you should treasure them as I am sure many lessons were learned through them. Remmber that the best and saddest thing about losing a loved one is that you love them so much that it hurts. The memories you have of him and the stories you tell render him immortal. He will live through all of you forever. I am sure he is putting his skills to work in heaven building the mansion for his family. Tonala style! I love all of you! Trust in the Lord and seek him for comfort in this difficult time.

Memo: What a beautiful obituary for such a deserving man. The last time I saw your Dad we were all eating those delicious "elotes al la grill" at my Compa Chino' s party. It was with such love that I saw you attend to your Dad all night. I think that the time we love and respect our parents while they are alive, is the satisfaction that we will have when they are resting in our Savior's arms. May God grant you the peace and faith that you will need along with your family in the weeks to come. With love from your friends always.
