Lynnea Brooks Obituary

Lynnea M. Brooks, 29, of Rancho Mirage, Calif. died October 22, 2010 in Los Angeles due to complications from Cystic Fibrosis. Lynnea was born March 5, 1981 to Charlotte Brooks and Mark Maloney in Palm Springs, Calif. Lynnea attended St. Theresa School and Palm Springs High School. She was in the RN program at Golden West College until it became too much for her health. Lynnea is survived by her mother, Charlotte and step-father, Carl Tiedeman of Rancho Mirage; uncle, Sean (Suzie) Brooks of Spokane, Wash.; uncle, Dennis (Susie) Brooks of Pelham, Ala.; and cousin, Marisa (Brian) Erickson of Spokane. She was preceded in death by her father, Mark Maloney. Lynnea's last selfless act was to donate her body to the Keck School of Medicine at the University of Southern California, where she was the youngest donor. She will be greatly missed by all that knew her but we should take comfort in the fact that she's at peace now and we have an angel watching over us. A Celebration of Life will be held October 30, 2010 at O'Donnell Golf Club in Palm Springs at 1:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation (CFF.org) or your charity of choice.

We had the pleasure of meeting Lynnea when she was a small child. Her dad told me she just wanted to grow up and be beautiful. As we offer our sympathies, we're happy her childhood wish was fulfilled.

Charlotte: I'm so terribly sorry to hear of Lynnea's passing. The news brought back so many memories of when you were pregnant with her, after her birth and as a small child. Please know that you are in my thoughts & prayers. Much love to you.

I had the pleasure of knowing Lynnea when she was a child at Boys and Girls Clubs in Palm Springs. She was a quiet, sweet girl who was always mindful of those around her. She looks to have grown into a lovely young woman. I am deeply sorry to hear of her passing, but am happy to know she is at peace and no longer battling this terrible illness. God Bless you in your time of sorrow.
