Mark Lees Obituary

Mark Lees, 77, of Rancho Mirage, Calif. passed away on October 11, 2010 of melanoma cancer. Mark was born May 2, 1933, in San Francisco. Mark received a BA in Speech English from the University of California Los Angeles in 1956. He married his loving wife Nina in 1955 and they lived in Los Angeles and San Francisco before relocating to Rancho Mirage in 1997. Mark owned and operated Training Unlimited a computer consulting business. He was an active board member of the Rancho Mirage Community Association. His passion was to attend City Council meetings and missed only two meetings since 1999. He was honored with a proclamation from the City Council on September 16, 2010 naming it Mark Lees Day. Mark will be in their mind's eye at every meeting sitting in his usual spot. Mark is survived by his wife, Nina whom he shared 54 magical years together. Memorial services are pending. Donations may be sent to Nina Lees, 71-427 Halgar Road, Rancho Mirage, CA 92270.

I am so happy that I took the time to share with you and Mark. Mark was one of my greatest supporters and made me proud to know him. He was a sincere, caring, knowledgeable and loving man. He was always smiling and upbeat. He will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Dear Nina,
We were so sad to hear the news and send you our heartfelt sympathy. I will never forget how welcoming you and Mark were to Lawford and me all those years ago in San Francisco. My memories are of a lovely man, with a sweet smile and a twinkle in his eye. We send you our love, thoughts and prayers.
