Gracye Nadeau Obituary

September 6, 1919 – November 15, 2010

Lydia Nadeau, 91, of College Station, passed away Monday, November 15, 2010. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, November 20, at Callaway-Jones Funeral Home in Bryan.

Lydia was born in Brooklyn, New York and moved to Panama when she was three. In 1978 she moved from Panama to College Station. She was a legal secretary for General Council Office in Panama Canal Company and also worked for the Director of Admissions at Texas A&M University. Lydia was involved with the American Legion in Panama and loved to dance. She danced with the USO in WWII. Lydia also loved tending her houseplants.

Lydia was preceded in death by her parents, Grover C. and Grayce Helena Gravatt; husband, George F. Nadeau; and brother, Grover J. Gravatt.

Survivors include sons, Randall Nadeau, of College Station, Texas, George Nadeau and his wife Brenda, of West Point, Virginia; daughters, Lana Gagnon, of Jacksonville, Florida, Karen Price and her husband Lee, of College Station, Texas, four grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice Brazos Valley, 502 West 26th Street, Bryan, TX 77803

Although I never got the chance to meet Grandma, I feel as though I know her through her family. When I met your grandson Mike he told me that his Grandma was "Gracye" and I said, "My Grandma is Grace too" and that is where my middle name came from. I know you are in a happy place with your husband looking down on your family. We love you Grandma...now you can dance with the angels.
