Owensboro, Ky.
James Roe Lingle, 80, of Owensboro, died Thursday, July 13, 2017, while under the care of Hospice of Western Kentucky.
Jim was born in Makanda, Ill., on September 24, 1936, to the late Leon Lingle and Hope Inez Maddox Lingle. He was a teacher, technician and mechanic of all things automotive. Jim was a member of Thruston United Methodist Church and the Evansville Iron Car Club. Jim loved cars, gospel bluegrass music and playing the guitar. He taught at Job Corps and enjoyed mentoring students.
Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Darlene Fehrenbacher Lingle; sons, Scott Alan Lingle (Codie) and James Lingle Jr; a daughter, Cathy Lingle; several grandchildren, including Emerson and Lanham; three sisters; and nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Services will be at 1 p.m. on Saturday, July 15, 2017, at James H. Davis Funeral Home. Visitation will be on Saturday from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Thruston United Methodist Church, 5551 State Route 405, Owensboro, KY 42303.

I remember him from Job Corps. Used to go to the shop in Midway and ride some of those muscle cars. Great man and always seemed to be happy. Prayers to all of family.
