David Stobbe Obituary

Age 78. Passed away on Father's Day, Sunday, June 15, 2008 at home surrounded by his loving family. Born January 13, 1930 in Farwell, NE, he lived most of his adult life in Joliet. A United States Army Veteran, he served during the Korean War. Employed with Illinois Bell Telephone Company, he retired in 1990 after 35 years of dedicated service. Member of the Knights of Columbus and the Telephone Pioneers of America. His stories and jokes will always be remembered by everyone who knew him. He will be sadly missed by his family and many friends.

Preceded in death by his wife, who he so dearly missed, Jacquelyn K. (nee Liberty) Stobbe (2006); parents, Peter J. and Molly (nee Jehorek) Stobbe; two sisters, Janice Rehse and Janine Doran; three brothers, Hubert Horky, William Stobbe, and Daniel Stobbe; his aunt, Susie Stobbe.

Survived by his loving children, Cathy (Harold) Hennings, Cindy (Dave) Rowland, David (Eva) Stobbe, and Christy (Bob) Pazely; devoted grandchildren, Craig (Nicole) Hennings, Brian (Anne) Hennings, Scott Hennings, David Rowland, Matthew Rowland, Allison Rowland, Nick Rowland, Danielle Stobbe, David Stobbe, Aleks Stobbe, Brittney Pazely, Robby Pazely, Michael Pazely, and Bridget Pazely; one great-grandson, Blake Hennings; his sister, Dixie (late Wayne) Williams; two sisters-in-law, Carolynn Stobbe and Diane (Jim) Krizmanic; three brothers-in-law, William Rehse, Earl Doran, and Roger (Linda) Liberty; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for David D. Stobbe, Sr. will be Thursday, June 19, 2008 at 9:00 a.m. from the funeral home to St. Mary Nativity Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Interment Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery. Memorials in his name to Joliet Area Community Hospice would be appreciated. Visitation Wednesday 3-8 p.m. at:
