Lloyd White Obituary
Born: Dec. 4, 1963; in Joliet, IL
Died: Aug. 31, 2015; in Chicago, IL
Lloyd Ames White, age 51, of Chicago, formerly of Joliet/Plainfield, courageously battled liver cancer and lymphoma only to be senselessly murdered in his home August 31, 2015.
Lloyd was born December 4, 1963 in Joliet, the son of Laurence and Nancy (nee Hodges) White. He graduated from Plainfield schools, received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Bradley University and became a Certified Public Accountant from University of Illinois. He was currently employed as Chief Financial Officer of The Scion Group, LLC.
Lloyd enjoyed planning and taking many memorable trips to the National Parks, Canada, Germany, Italy, Hungary, France and England. He enjoyed hiking, photography and observing the world around him.
He is survived by his mother, Nancy of Joliet, IL; beloved sister, Laura of Paxton, IL; half-brother, Laurence Jr. of Lodi, CA; half-sister, Kimberly (Timothy) Gregory of Shorewood, IL; special aunt, Myrtis (nee Hodges) Bowler of The Woodlands, TX; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Laurence; grandparents, Laurence and Irene White; grandparents, Arthur and Florence Hodges; and dear brother, Robert Van Kooten.
A memorial visitation will be held at Overman-Jones Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 15219 S. Joliet Road, Plainfield, IL on Saturday, October 3, 2015, from 1:00 until 4:00 p.m. A Celebration of the Life led by Keith White will follow at 4:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Private inurnment will occur at a later time at Plainfield Township Cemetery.

I just wanted to let you know your family continues to be in my thoughts and prayers. Lloyd and I were in elementary and secondary school together in Plainfield. I remember him as being such a brilliant and joyful person with a quick wit and kind heart. God bless your family during the holidays and always.

At this time during your grieving there is nothing I can say that would truly comfort you, except to tell you that Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior is a constant companion as he always is. He will always be there for you on your down times and when you enjoy the wonderful memories of your dear son. A Bible verse comes to mind, " I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me". I hope that verse will give you some comfort you desperately need.
I pray for peace to return to your heart, body and soul. God Bless you, Nancy and your dear daughter laura.
