Charles Burling-Denlinger Obituary

Charles H. R. Burling-Denlinger, age 66, of Long Island, NY passed away peacefully Monday, February 2, 2012 at the Beth Israel Medical Center in Manhattan, NYC. His sister Jane Fraytet was by his side along with his best friend of 53 years, James Hamilton.

Charles was born in Manhattan on May 22, 1945 to the late Howard and Virginia Burling. He and his sister Jane were later adopted by Virginia and Sutherland Denlinger. Charles grew up in Westport and Weston, CT, and graduated from Staples High School and then enlisted in the U.S. Air Force. Charles became a proficient and well respected IT Specialist with Apple Macintosh computer software and hardware; he was a consultant in these areas of expertise for about 40 years and worked independently for many Fortune 500 Corporations including the famous architect I.M. Pei.

Charles is predeceased by his elder brother Walter Burling of Las Vegas, NV.

Survivors include his eldest brother Howard L. Burling, II of Stratford, CT; sister Jane Fraytet of Charlotte, NC; and half-brother William Denlinger of Southbury, CT; three nephews, Ward Burling of Seymour, CT; Marc Burling of Yorba Linda, CA; and Jay Burling of Brookings, OR.

Funeral arrangements are private by the International Funeral Service, 4123 4th Ave., Brooklyn, NY 11232. In the spring, on May 22, 2012, a memorial service will be held at the residence of James Hamilton in East Hampton, L.I., NY.
