Barbara Stringham Obituary

Barbara E. Stringham, 76, of Grand Island died Thursday, April 26, 2012, at St. Francis Medical Center.

Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home. The Rev. Jack Sample will officiate. There will be no visitation, Barbara was cremated. Burial will be at a later date in Torrington, Wyo.

Barbara was born March 26, 1936, in Norfolk, to Warren and Martha (Love) Hays. She grew up in Minnesota and Nebraska.

She was a loving and caring mother who dedicated her life to raising her children. Barbara enjoyed collecting horses and loved making crafts, especially jewelry.

She is survived by four sons and three daughters-in-law, Buck and Donna Stringham of Colorado, Don and Tina Stringham of Grand Island, Bill and Gena Stringham of North Platte, and Neal Stringham of Grand Island; 10 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; a brother and sister-in-law, Jim and Ruth Hayes of Hastings; a sister, Cheryl Dowdy, of Aurora; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two infant sons, Lonnie and Jessie; a daughter-in-law, Jennifer; and nine siblings.

Memorials are suggested to the family's choice.
