Frances Andrew Obituary

Andrew, Frances Adele Tyler

Frances Adele Tyler Andrew, formerly of Trumansburg, died Tuesday, March 22nd, 2011 at Cayuga Ridge. She was born on January 25th, 1916 in Ithaca, a daughter of the late Marie (Grover) and Percy Emory Tyler. She graduated from Trumansburg Central School in 1934 and graduated from Elmira Beauty School. Frances worked for many years at Cornell University in various secretarial positions and then at Ithaca College Library from which she retired in 1981. She was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church in Trumansburg, teaching many Sunday school classes. Frances was preceded in death by her former husband, Robert Andrew; long time friend and companion, James Teeter; and a sister, Betty Brown. She is survived by two children, Joanne Andrew Stevens of Gainesville, Florida and Robert William Andrew and his companion Joyce Vandebogart of Ithaca; five grandchildren, Kimberly (David) Lottinville of LaCrosse, Florida, Robert William (Jody) Andrew II of Trumansburg, Anthony Andrew of Grand Coulee, Montana, Nicholas Andrew of Seneca Falls, Christina Mente of Trumansburg; three great-grandchildren, Holly Andrew, Erika Andrew, and Robert Andrew III, all of Trumansburg; a niece, Linda Smith of Trumansburg; a nephew, Larry Brown of Phoenix, Arizona; and several great-nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will take place at a later date at the convenience of the family. The family asks those who wish to make a contribution in Frances' memory to kindly consider the First Baptist Church of Trumansburg, PO Box 686, Trumansburg, NY 14886 or the Cornell Lab of Ornithology, 159 Sapsucker Woods Road, Ithaca, NY 14850.
