ALICE
TAYLOR, 95

WINTER HAVEN - Alice Taylor, 95, recently of Winter Haven, FL, died of natural causes February 5, 2014 at Winter Haven Hospital. Born in Dover, NH April 14, 1918 to the late Merinda (Pilkington) and Albert E. Taylor.
Following graduation from Dover High School in 1937 Alice spent almost a year visiting family in England. She moved from Dover to Alexandria, VA in the 1960's to work as an Accountant for the Dept. of the Navy. She continued her civil service in Pensacola, FL retiring in 1984, later moving to Winter Haven, FL. Alice was a member of the Rebekah's, joining in NH and continuing throughout her life. She became an honorary member of Alpha Sigma Master Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi while living in Winter Haven, seldom missing a meeting.
Her sister, Minnie, and brother-in-law, Mervale Bernard Birchard, predeceased Alice.
She is survived by her daughter, Merinda and Bruce C. Townsend, grandchildren, Heidi and Dennis Bundy and Dwight Townsend all of Lebanon, NH; great-grandchildren, Sarah, Nathan and wife Katelyn, Merinda Esther, Paul and Deborah. Alice also leaves a number of friends whose companionship she enjoyed for over twenty years, while eating together daily at several local restaurants.
A celebration of Alice's life will be held in NH at a later date. Final arrangements are through the Ott-Laughlin Funeral Home. A message of condolence may be shared by visiting http://www.dignitymemorial.com/ott-laughlin-funeral-home-winter-haven.
