LAKELAND - Byron Eugene Hamiel, age 83, of Lakeland, passed away October 14, 2010 from cancer.
He was born February 19, 1927 in Brookville, Ohio to Russell & Cleon (Ernst) Hamiel. He was a US Navy veteran. He owned and operated Hamiel Blacktop Company in Dayton, Ohio. He and Anna Poteet were married June 14, 1947 at Covington, Kentucky. He moved to Lakeland, Florida in 1989.
He is preceded in death by his parents; three brothers Jim, Burt & Lowell; one sister Miriam Husted. He is survived by his wife of 63 years Anna Hamiel; four children Larry Hamiel, Debra (Steve) Luman, Gary (Kathy) Hamiel, Sherry (Michael) Apel, all of Lakeland; four grandchildren Matthew, Benjamin, Lucas & Stefanie; three great grandchildren Zoey, Zayda & Dirk; many nieces, nephews & friends.
Funeral Services with Military Honors 11:00AM Friday, November 5, 2010 at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, Florida.
