Beloved Mother
LAKELAND - Mrs. Annie S. Goddard died Wed., July 28, 2010 of natural causes in Lakeland. She was 94 years old.
Born Annie Virginia Sanders on Sept 7, 1915 in Palatka, she lived in Lakeland for over 75 years and was married to the late John D. Goddard for over 67 years.
An avid reader and renowned shopper, she also loved to travel. Mr. and Mrs. Goddard made it to nearly every state and several European countries. Franklin, NC was a favorite destination.
Mrs. Goddard sold Avon for a number of years. She also worked as office manager for John Goddard Produce and three local dentists.
A devout Christian, Mrs. Goddard was a long-time member of Southside Baptist Church, Lakeside Baptist Church and The Rock Community Church. She taught Sunday school at Southside for adolescent girls for many years.
Mrs. Goddard is survived by her sons, John D. Goddard, Jr., Robert A. Goddard and Richard G. Goddard, seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be tonight from 6:30-8:00 pm at Heath Funeral Chapel. Services will be held Saturday at 4 pm at Heath.

Dorsey and I send our love, thoughts, and prayers to your entire family as we read of the loss of your dear mother. Though we did not know her personally, we have been blessed by our friendship and fellowship with Bob, Linda, and their boys. This family, and we’re sure many more, live on as a tribute to her blessed legacy.

Dick, Bob and John, you mother was as dear to me as my own and she was my connection to your side of the family. I'm sorry that we couldn't be there for her at the end, but she was a strong lady and full of life. We love her and extend our strongest wishes for you and your family

The family of Mrs. Edna Terrell extends their deepest sympathy to the Goddard Family at the loss of their mother and grandmother. My mother (Edna Terrell) will truly miss her as a cherished friend.

Your Mother is what I can describe as a real Christian lady and a delighful person to be around. I use to love to see her come into church with your gentleman of a Dad and Husband. What a devoted couple they were. She wanted me to take over the Greeter's Chairmanship and invited me to her home to give me all the instrucions and I have tried hard to follow in her footsteps. They were such a devoted couple and was loved and admired by so many friends and loved ones. I was blessed just by knowing them. May God give you peace and comfort in the days ahead. You were truly blessed by loving parents.

Though I've only known your mother for a couple of years, she was a great lady. I'm sorry I didn't have the privilege of knowing her during her prime, but she was a delightful lady even in her later years. God bless you boys - she was so proud of you. Joyce Tanner/Comfort Keepers
