McKINLEY, 75
LAKELAND - Paul C. McKinley, 75, was born May 17, 1938 and passed away on October 18, 2013.
Paul served in the U.S. Air Force and worked as a building contractor for over 25 years.
He is survived by his wife Shirley, his sons, Calvin (Traci) and Steve, his daughter, Carol Browning (Curtis), four grandchildren, and his sisters, Mildred Terry and Carolyn Beverly.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 24 at 11am at the Lake Gibson Church of the Nazarene. Memorials may be made to the church in honor of Paul McKinley.

Shirley, I remember you, Paul & your family so well from Lake Wire Church of God. I am so sorry for your loss. Special greetings to Shirley McKinley and family. We received the news of Paul's departure with much grief. All of you meant so very much to us during our pastorate in Lakeland. How I wish we could have been there to offer Paul assistance during his illness. You and Paul were not only dedicated members of the church but choice friends. The times we enjoyed dinner in your home with your family are so memorable. We had a flashback memory of when we were new in the area, and we took a trip in Paul's plane to Davis Island for dinner and a pass over Disney World that night. Just remember God, our Heavenly Father, is faithful and loving. You are and will be foremost in our thoughts and prayers in the days ahead. Shirley & family, keeping you in my thoughts and prayers, I will always remember and be thankful for all the times you, Paul and children picked me up and delivered me back home from Lake Wire Church of God, if it had not of been for you and Paul there would have been many times I would not have gotten to go to church, thank you so much for giving of yourselves like you did. A huge smile, the best fish cook and story teller where the truth was probably stretched just slightly to make the story even more interesting and funny, a superior craftsman and builder, a strong competitor in a rabbit eating contest, always fun, a people person, someone who celebrated our successes and always encouraged, there during hard times, favorite uncle and proud to have been his namesake. We will miss everything about him, but just saying see you later not goodbye. With love.

I had the privilege of meeting Mr. McKinley in July @ his granddaughter Kimberley's wedding. He was such a comical, kind, and dear soul. While the earth has lost a great man, Heaven gained a greater angel meant to fulfill GOD's purpose. Thank you Mr. McKinley for your USAF Service and thank you for the laughs we shared in July.
