POLK, 84
FROSTPROOF - Calvin Polk of Frostproof passed away Friday, June 03, 2011 at his residence due to heart failure.
Born April 09, 1927 in Bowling Green, Florida, to the Late Oscar and Etha (Lightsey) Polk, he has been a resident of the Frostproof area for 20 years coming here from Tampa. He was self employed in the citrus industry and a Korean Veteran serving in the US Air Force for 21 years. He was of the Protestant Faith.
Calvin was preceded in death by his Wife, Frona Mae Fletcher Polk
Survivors include his Daughters, Sylvia Marlene Field of Sarasota, Fl., Catherine Suzette Schmerbeck (Norman) of Palatka, Fl., Patricia Ann Burkett (Bill) of St. Petersburg, Fl., Mary Jean Tomlinson of Lakeland, Fl.; Sons, John Boone of Frostroof, Fl., Charles C. Polk of St. Cloud, Fl.; Brother, Gilbert Polk of Bowling Green, Fl., 15 Grandchildren and 12 Great Grandchildren; Companion of 20 years, Wendy Smith
Funeral Services will be held 1:00 PM, Wednesday, June 08, 2011 at the Marion Nelson Funeral Home of Frostproof with Otto Polk, Jr. and The Rev. William Burkett officiating. Interment will be held at the Silver Hill Cemetery. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 12:00 PM until service time.
