LAKELAND - Kenneth "Gabby" Balentine, 78, died March 1, 2011 at Lakeland Regional Medical Center due to pneumonia.
Mr. Balentine was born November 19, 1932 in Pine Bluff, Arkansas and moved to Lakeland in 1962. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was a chemist for the FDA and worked 30 years for Abbott Laboratories as a Pharmaceutical Rep. He loved to golf and enjoyed traveling.
Mr. Balentine is survived by his wife Joyce Balentine, Lakeland; daughter Nikki Bruce Bicknell, Tampa, FL; son Kevin Tina Balentine, Lakeland, FL; granddaughter Addison Paige Balentine; and a brother David Balentine, Huntsville, AL.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 5 at 2 00 PM at Heath Funeral Chapel with a reception following. A private interment will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association at 520 S. Florida Ave., Lakeland, FL 33801, or
