Marie Iannone Obituary

MARIE C.
IANNONE, 69
Homemaker

LAKELAND - Marie Iannone passed away on Tuesday, February 23, 2010 in Lakeland, Florida due to a lengthy battle with heart complications.
Born in Brooklyn, New York, Marie moved to Lakeland when she was a young girl. She happily resided there for 56 years where she was blessed with many lifelong friends. She graduated from Lakeland High School. A courageous and amazing woman, Marie touched the lives of countless people with her caring ways and generosity. She dedicated years of service to the SPCA, the Boy Scouts of America, and was an active member of the powerboat squadron. Marie and her husband lovingly served as foster parents at various times through the years, to a total of nine children. Full of laughter and fun, Marie loved the beach and fishing. In recent years, she and her husband, John, spent many joyous months of the year in Englewood, Florida, boating, fishing and spending time with family and friends.
Beloved wife for 50 years, she is survived by her husband Patrick John Iannone. Loving mother, she is further survived by her children, Michael, John, Mary and David, as well as six grandchildren who cherish her. Marie will be remembered lovingly by her brother, John Gursky of Lakeland and his family, as well as family and friends throughout Florida and New York.
In lieu of flowers, Marie's family asks that you share a special meal with your family and friends and remember her in your thoughts and prayers.

I could go on forever about how great a woman my grandma was. Loving, smart, strong, funny, and so many other things that people strive to be. I' am blessed to have had her for a grandma. She had a great sense of humor. She could make anyone laugh. She was a special woman who I will miss greatly. Her memory will live in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

Marie, our Lakeland High School classmate of 1959, will be missed, indeed. In recent years, she and John socialized with other classmates on a recurring basis. We are truly sorry for this loss.

Dear Marie's Beloved Family - I was so saddened to read of Marie's passing - The day I refound her on Ebay lit my life up again. She took such good care of me as a small child and when I got the email "If this is Lynn from Bristol Avenue, this is your baby sitter, Marie!" My family adored Marie and we always felt she was a part of our family.
