Sondra Ledford Obituary
LEDFORD, 71
LAKELAND - Sondra K. Ledford, 71, passed away Tuesday, June 2, 2011, at Lakeland Regional Medical Center of heart failure.
She was born September 21, 1939, in Beckley, West Virginia and moved to Florida in 1985, where she was a loving wife and mother. She loved doing crossword puzzles, playing Scrabble, country music and great food. She competed in pool tournaments in the Midwest and even played in the U.S. Open.
She is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Leon Ledford, three daughters, Rhonda Lopez of Dixon, IL, Denise Khidirian of Lakeland, FL and Michelle Lenderman of Rockford, IL, two sisters, Dreama Hubbell and Trecia Settle both of Connellsville, PA, one brother, Herman Settle, Jr. of Beckley W VA, five grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held at Scott Lake Baptist Church, 5811 Scott Lake Road, Lakeland, FL on Tuesday, June 7th from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hope Hospice, 1525 Lakeland Hills Blvd., Lakeland, Florida 33805.

My sincere condolences to Leon and his family. I did not have the pleasure of knowing Sondra for very long. She was very sweet and kind to me and always made me feel welcomed. "Memory is a way of holding on to the things you love, the things you are, the things you never want to lose" She will continue to live in our hearts.

i am so sorry to hear of her passing. she was one of the sweetest women i've ever met, an angel on earth. she was always there with a smile and a kind word. i'm sure she's in heaven playing a randy travis song! my sincere condolences to leon, denise, ed and the whole family, she will truly be missed!

I graduated high school with Sondra in Pax, WV. I was so happy to see her at our 50th reunion. She seemed to enjoy it so much. I loved her and will miss her,
