SONYA YAKUB Obituary
YAKUB, 56
PELHAM MANOR, NY - Yakub, Sonya Smith, of Pelham Manor, New York, 56, passed away on November 29, 2013.
Formerly of Bartow, FL, she was employed for over twenty-seven years with the law firm of Windels Marx Lane & Mittendorf in New York City.
She was predeceased by her father, Donald R. Smith and her mother, Betty G. Smith.
She is survived by her husband, Dr. Mohamad Yakub; son Mohamad "Mo" Yakub; beloved pet Bentley; sister Cindy (Gene) Perrin and her family of Bristol, TN; father and mother in law, Mohamed and Shireene Yakub of Mount Vernon, NY; and sister and brother in law Donna and David Tsui of Rye Brook, NY.
Visitation will be held Monday, December 2, 2013 from 3-5 and 7-9 pm and a memorial service on Tuesday, December 3, 2013 12 PM at the Westchester Funeral Home in Eastchester, NY.
Interment to follow at Kensico Cemetery. Sonya was a loving wife, devoted mother, caring sister, and a friend to many. You may leave an

I know Sonya from WMLM and we worked across from each other until I left in 2008. What a kind, thoughtful co-worker who lit up the floor with her smile and laughter. God Bless her, she was an angel. Please except my heart-felt condolence. She was not only a co-worker but a real friend. Allaho Akbar
