LAKE WALES - Robert F. 'Bob' Underly passed away peacefully at his home in Lake Wales, Florida, at the age of 94 on July 28, 2015.
Bob is survived by his wife Janet (Marshall) Underly of Lake Wales, Florida, his children William Underly of St Cloud, Florida, and Judith (Dennis) Comai of Lake Wales, Florida, four grandchildren Starlyn Comai of Arlington, Virginia, Shanna Comai of Sarasota, Florida, David and Anthony Underly of St Cloud, Florida, and extended family relatives including Paul Marshall, Carol (Peter) Marsh, and many friends.
He is preceded in death by his first wife Grace (Swartz) Underly, brother Harry (Jean) Underly, brother Chuck (Pauline) Underly, sister Marion (Dick) Ross, Sister Clara Mae (Tom) Mottl, and sister Mildred (Hank) Wolkins.
Born January 10, 1921, to the late Eby and Clara Underly, and raised in Galien Michigan, Bob married Grace Swartz of Galien, and purchased a farm growing crops and raising animals. He worked for Clark Equipment Company of Buchanan, Michigan, and continued to work his farm at the same time. Bob retired as Clark Equipment's Senior Shop Foreman after 35 years with them, and in 1977, Bob and Grace began wintering in Lake Wales, Florida, and moved down permanently in 1991.
Bob enjoyed watching sports and was a hard working Jack-of-all-trades who continued to fix and repair anything that wasn't working right; he was a real handyman with a passion for tinkering around in his shop.
A visitation is scheduled for 4:00-6:00 Thursday, July 30, 2015, at Johnson-Nelson-Gill Funeral Home, 322 N. Scenic Highway, Lake Wales, Florida. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Bob's life.
There will be a graveside service in Galien, Michigan.
