Miss Thompson worked in the library at my school at the time. I was about 9years old at the time at polk city elementary and even till this day she holds a special place in my heart. She made a huge impact in my life she was such a bright soul. And in a short amount of time taught me so much about life and the value it has. I had issues in school due to family issues at home and was sent to her almost on a daily and even on the roughest days she always made sure to show me and tell me how tomorrow would be better. Now as an adult I have taken all she had taught me and I teach others and help others and teach my own kids to keep moving forward even when life throws you through a loop. Rest easy miss Thompson you will forever be remembered and loved.

Although I never personally met Celeste, I felt like I knew this remarkable young woman through the stories that Venisha and I would share about our children and their lives. Venisha knew that Celeste was a very special person with a special purpose in life. She accomplished much in her short life. Thoughts and prayers are with you and your family today and always.

I was in MC when I met Celeste. Her smile left such an impact on my life. She always managed to brighten up the day. Honestly, I don't remember a time she didn't have a smile on her face :) I never had the opportunity to get to know her better. While I lived in Florida, I had talked to her through email about 2 weeks before the accident. We were supposed to get together and hang out because we lived about 20 minutes away from each other. I feel sad that we never got to hang out while in Florida, but I know the opportunity will happen one day when I see her smiling face again in heaven :) I can't wait Celeste!!!

I was in Masters commission with Celeste and some of the greatest memories I have of that time in my life were shared with her. After Masters I lost track of all my friends, Celeste included and just the other day my wife (who was in Masters with Celeste as well) told me what happened. I know that time heals all wounds in this life and I can only hope that Celestes family who may not remeber us is doing well and taking comfort that Celeste left a lasting impression on everyone she came in contact with. Celeste will always be missed and never forgotten for the life she lived. She was the greatest example of what a christ like woman should be, she was a great example to me even after not seeing her since 2002. I'm sorry Thompson family that its taken so long to write this but your daughter was my friend and she will be missed.

To my darling baby Celeste;
I know that your first birthday in Heaven is one of singing praises to God and rejoicing with laughter in the joy that to us is unspeakable. You completed God's purpose for your life on this earth and are now enjoying the reward of your labor. I want you to know that although your earthly body is no longer with us, your life is still transforming spiritual lives today. The lives you touched are now paying forward touching other lives. What a true heritage you left and to know that God choose me to be your mother, what an honor! I just want you to know because of the touch you had on my life, I plan on spending the remainder of my life touching and serving others.
Throughout this past year God's grace and mercy has carried me through. Sometimes He had to carry me, while at other times He held my hand. God truely understands my pain and sorry of losing you. Although for Him, He freely gave His son to come to this earth for the sole purpose to be nailed to a cross for me. What great anguish God must have endured knowing what His only son must suffer. I have realized with the lose of you a portion of what God must have went through.
Three years ago when I told you I was going to school to become a nurse your reply was; "Mom that's so crazy" and of course I had to find out what "crazy" meant. You said, "it's awesome." At the time you also said "we will all be at your graduation with bells on." Well Celeste, how true that statement will be on December 15th. I know that you will be with me joining in playing all the bells in Heaven. For that time when I walk across the stage, please play them a little bit louder so I can hear them down here.
Celeste, you have told me over and over throughout this last year that you want joy in my life. Well baby, I am trying with each step thoughout my day to choose joy with each experience I encounter. Life has more meaning when I look at it through the eyes of joy.
Thank you so much for taking the time out of your busy schedule of praising God to take a few minutes for me. I know that you make a "crazy" praiser.
While I miss you very much, I know that you are safe and happy. What more could a mother ask for.
Happy 1st Birthday with Jesus!
I love you bunches!

As I entered church today a bulletin was placed in my hand. In this bulletin on the first page was a few words written by an unknown author, but they were meant for me. I want to pass them on to you, because I know it is through your answered prayers for me and my family that God has given us the strength to continue on.
FABRIC OF OUR LIFE
"My life is like a weaving between the Lord and me. I may not choose the colors, God knows what they should be. For God can view the pattern upon the upper side, while I can see it only on this, the under side.
Sometimes life weaves in sorrow, which seems so strange to me. But I will trust God's pattern and work on faithfully. Tis God who fills the shuttle. God knows just what is best. So I will weave in earnest and trust God with the rest.
At last, when life is ended, with God I will abide. Then I will view the pattern upon the upper side. Then I shall know the reason why pain, with joy entwined, was woven in the fabric of life that God designed." Author Unknown
Celeste now sees her fabric from the upper side. She is with each of us now, not as she was on this earth helping guide us while looking at the under side of our fabric. But now she is guiding us while seeing the upper side of our fabric.
Thank you God for choosing my baby to lead so many home to you. Although I miss her earthly body, I know she can do so much more for your glory abiding there in heaven with you. Please continue to allow her spirit to be with us giving us comfort while we weave our fabric of our life.
I love you all and pray each of you continue working on your life's fabric until we are greeted in heaven by Jesus and Celeste.
Celeste, mom loves you!

To Celeste's family:
I did not have the privilege of knowing Celeste. I heard about her through a newsletter from Lee University. As I read her obituary, I noticed Celeste and I have a lot in common: we both graduated from WHHS in 1999, both attended Lee (I'm getting my master's in education there currently), and both love the Lord. My prayers to your family. May the name of our God be uplifted through the life of your child.

To The Thompsons and the Kneppers:
Tony and I were so blessed to serve with Celeste for 3 years at Richmond Oaks. She was more than a student, she was a daughter. She was an encourager with a beautiful spirit and always had a kind word to share. She took care of our daughter, as well as the children of RO, as if they were her own. She has so many spiritual children with whom she has left a lasting legacy.
We cherish our memories of her and we can't wait to see her again someday. We think of her and speak of her daily.
You are all in our thoughts and prayers. We love you and are always here for you.

I want to take this opportunity to thank each of you for sharing your relationship with Celeste with me. We must continue to burn her light by finding or applying God's purpose for our life to this world. I love you all! I hear her laughter and feel her warm hugs, I miss her very much. Now I would like to share my thoughts with each of you of what a special daughter I had.
My Celestial Baby
In my empty womb, God implanted a miracle. Not just any miracle, but Celeste. Celestial as she was, more heavenly one might say. She was the star that lit the way for youngsters along her way. She gave words of encouragement to her friends, a helping hand to the homeless, and a smile that would brighten a lonely person’s day. Her gentle way would separate angry adolescent boys, while she modeled morals and standards of her beliefs so that young ladies would not stray. One might say spiritual wisdom beyond her years, which would be my baby, that little girl I adored. Once you encountered this Celestial being, you were touched by her gentleness, kindness, caring, integrity for the truth, courage to do God’s will, and unselfish giving spirit. It was an honor to have been chosen to be this special baby’s mother, and a true privilege to have her as my daughter. The impact she has made upon my life will live in my heart and memory for the rest of my journey home to meet her. I would like to thank you God for the twenty-five years you gave me with Celeste. I know that my Celestial baby is now your angel. Please take care of her for me.

She was 9 years old when she became a part of my life. Can anything be a bigger part of your life than a child? It was hard for me to decide to add 2 more children ...but it was the best decision I ever made.
Celeste & I became very attached very early. Our 4 children bonded as close as natural born siblings. Their was no HIS or HERS when talking about our children it was only OURS! It doesn't mean you take the place of their biological parent it just means they belong to you in a different way. Our children made it easy to blend two families because of their love for each other. Their favorite pass-time was making fun of Steve & I.
Celeste loved it when people would say how much they all favored. I quess they all spent so much time together they began to look alike.
Am I going to miss her?
Only when: - I get up every morning
- I go to bed every night
- I get up in the night
to check to make sure
she's tuck in okay
- we are around the meal
table
- every Sunday morning
getting ready for
church, hearing her come into my room and say "Does this match?, does may hair look okay? Do you have any pantyhose?, Can I wear these earrings? How about this neckless too?
We worried about her finding a spouse because she measured every guy to her dad. I tried to tell her he was'nt perfect...except to her & I.
To my darling daughter,(not from my womb but from my heart & soul) I love you, I love you, I love you!

Celeste was at our school for only a year, but it seems as if she was with us forever. She was a bit of sunshine in our world. As one child put it, "If we had a bad day and we came to the library, she made us happy". What a legacy. She made all of our lives brighter by her infectious smile, her winning ways, and her ever effervescent spirit. As her name implied she was celestial, heavenly, angelic, godly, divine. Truely an angel among us who impacted the lives of our children, our parents, and our staff. We love you, Celeste. You have a place in our hearts. Our prayer is that the God of all comfort, comfort the Thompson family during this great time of sorrow and loss.

What a huge loss for everyone, the school she worked for, her community, her church, friends old and new, and most importantly her family. I can't even imagine the hurt you're going through, but I know that Jesus will sustain and comfort you. It's been several years since I saw Celeste (at West Lakeland Church), but I remember she was such a beautiful little girl. I'm praying for you.

I only had a few wonderful opportunities to meet her, but I always came away thinking to myself “what a delightful woman”. Though, our discussions were only about being a media specialist, I could tell that she was a woman of God. I will keep her family, friends and her students in my prayers.

Celeste was such a special person I did not get to know her as well as I would have liked to but for the time I did get to know her God's love shined through her. She was very easy to become friends with very quickly. She touched so many lives of the kids at Polk City Elementary. I am a volunteer that has been working with her on a regular basis for about 4 weeks and my children and I really miss Celeste so much already. She will always be remembered.
