AMALIA G. ANZALDUA
HARGILL - Amalia G. Anzaldua died peacefully on October 31, 2010, at Doctors Hospital at Renaissance in Edinburg, at the age of 85. Born in Los Verjeles Ranch, Texas, Mrs. Anzaldua had lived in Hargill all of her life and was a member of St. Francis Cabrini Catholic Church.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Urbano Anzaldua; a daughter, Dr. Gloria E. Anzaldua; and her parents, Rafael and Ramona Garcia.
Mrs. Anzaldua is survived by three children, Hilda Anzaldua, Urbano (wife Janie) Anzaldua Jr., both of Hargill, Oscar (wife Sara) Anzaldua, of Pharr; eight grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; seven siblings, Elida Davila, Celia Anzaldua, Rafael Garcia, Pedro Garcia, Jose Garcia, all of Hargill, Ramona Lopez, of Porterville, California and Rebecca Marez, of San Carlos; and many nieces and nephews.
She will be dearly missed by her daughter, sons, family and friends. The family would like to thank Dr. Eduardo Aquino for the care given to Mrs. Anzaldua and for the support offered to her family. They would especially like to thank her niece, Ninfa Garza, for the care she provided to our mother.
A rosary was held Monday, November 1, 2010, at Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg. Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. today, November 2, 2010, at St. Francis Cabrini Catholic Church in Hargill. Interment will follow at Valle De La Paz Cemetery in Hargill.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
