Herbert Hazelton Obituary
Sept. 12, 1925 - Aug. 9, 2012
Herbert Hazelton, Mt. Pleasant, resident since 1955, passed away peacefully August 9, 2012, after a long illness. He was 86. Surviving family members are his wife of 65 years, Donna of Mt. Pleasant, daughter, Marcia TeVelde of Manistique, his son, Barry of Mt. Pleasant; and a grandson and two granddaughters; and a brother, Craig Hazelton of Bradenton FL. He was preceded in death by daughter, Sharon Lambert of Ft. Meyers, FL.
Herb retired in 1986 from the City of Mt. Pleasant's Comptroller position. He was an honored member of the U.S. Navy and a veteran of W.W.II. A kind peaceful, and loving man, Herb will be missed by many.
A Service with Honor Guard will be held at Trinity United Methodist Church at 202 S. Elizabeth in Mt. Pleasant on Sunday, September 9, 2012 at 1 p.m.
At the family's request and rather than flowers, gifts of appreciation can be made to Northern Comfort Specialized Care, 8082 W. Highway 2, Manistique, MI 49854.

Donna and family, When I saw Marcia last Saturday in Meijer, I told her what an awesome man her father was. He was my boss at City Hall years ago and he was such a kind, understanding, and gentle man. I would see Herb & Donna at our church smorgasboard in Shepherd often and enjoy a great catch up conversation with him. Great memories!! He will be missed. Anita Nartker, Shepherd

Herb was as nice as someone could be. He worked with my mother Maxine Tanner years and years ago and he never failed to ask how she was doing whenever we met. My deepest condolences to Donna, Marcia, Barry, the rest of his family and all who cared about him.

Donna and family: I was so sorry to learn of Herb's passing. He truly was a kind man. He was my boss at City Hall and the kindest, most caring boss one could ever have. We will surely miss him!
