Mary McCrocklin McClung

Mary McCrocklin McClung entered into her eternal rest on Thursday, April 10, 2014 after her courageous battle with cancer. She was 59 years old native of Metairie, LA and resident of La Place, LA. Beloved wife of William "Bill" McClung; devoted and loving mother of Stanley McClung, David McClung (wife Anna), Michael McClung, and Rebecca Specht (husband Dustin). The most proud grandmother of Hannah and Athena. Daughter of the late Paxton and Patricia McCrocklin and sister of Ann Alderete, Cindy Catalano, Meg Trapani, and Erin Corona. She also survived by many nieces, nephews, friends, and family. Mrs. Mary was a passionate teacher at A.C. Alexander where she received the honor of being teacher of the year. She was an officer in the honorary teaching sorority ADK, Alpha Delta Kappa. As a long time parishioner of Ascension of Our Lord Church, she was proud of spreading the word of God to children through CCD director and liturgical reader for many years. She was honored the St. Louis Cathedral Award through the Arch Diocese of New Orleans. Mrs. Mary was an avid member with the Boy Scouts of America. She earned the St. George and Bronze Pelican Awards through her works with the Catholic Committee on Scouting. She was a member of the Chilantakoba Lodge of the Order of the Arrow. She devoted her life to helping children reach the goals and better their lives. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Divine Providence, 1000 N. Starrett Rd., Metairie on Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at 1:00 pm. Visitation from 11:00 am until time of service. Interment in Greenwood.
