Thomas A. Hasselbach

CLYDE: Thomas A. Hasselbach, 80 of Excalibur Dr., Clyde, OH passed away on November 25, 2011 surrounded by his family at The Willows in Bellevue, OH. He was born on March 31, 1931 in Fremont, OH to Donald and Irene (Emery) Hasselbach.

He was a 1949 graduate of Green Springs High School. He served in the US Air Force during the Korean Conflict. Tom married Doris A. Knappenberg on June 22, 1953 in St. Mary's Church in Clyde, OH and she survives.

Tom worked for Nickel Plate in Bellevue then was a truck driver at Humbert Trucking in Green Springs. He then worked for 29 years at Signal Delivery Service in Clyde until he retired. He was a life member of the Green Springs V.F.W. and a former member of the Green Springs American Legion and the Clyde and Fremont Eagles. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, watching TV and sports. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.

Tom is survived by his wife, Doris Hasselbach, Clyde; sons, Thomas A. (Celeste) Hasselbach, Clyde and James K. (Betty) Hasselbach, Green Springs; siblings, Rodney (Ann) Hasselbach and Marilyn Genzman both of Fremont; grandchildren, Joshua, Jordan, Whitney and Devon Hasselbach; three great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Donald "Gene" and Dale Hasselbach.

Visitation: Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Horvath Hanes Funeral Home, 211 N. Broadway St., Green Springs, OH. Funeral Service: Wednesday, November 30, 2011, 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home with Carol Courtney officiating. Burial: Green Springs Cemetery.
