George E. Willer

FREMONT: George E. Willer, Jr., 77, of Fremont, died on Wednesday, May 30, 2012 at the University Hospital Case Medical Center, Cleveland. He was born on Thanksgiving Day, November 29, 1934 in Clyde, OH to George Edward and Martha (Blazek) Willer Sr.

George was a 1952 graduate of Fremont Ross High School and he had attended The Ohio State University. On December 15, 1956 he married Marilyn Wheeler at the First Presbyterian Church in Fremont, officiated by Dr. J.R. Walter, and she survives. He was a home builder for Willer Custom Homes until his retirement. George was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. Enjoying working with his hands and his mind, he loved flying his own plane, rebuilt two airplanes and made clocks, furniture, stained glass lamps, restored old pianos, organs and antique tractors. George was also a member of SCRAP, EAA Chapter 50, MENSA and a lifetime member of the Tri-State Gas Engine & Tractor Assoc. in Portland, IN. He enjoyed wildlife and his special chocolate lab, Marlee.

In addition to his wife; he is survived by sons, Steven (Nadine) Willer of Perrysburg, Joel Willer of Monroe, LA; grandchildren, Heather (Jim Taylor) Vorraber of Swanton, OH, Christopher (Amanda) Trammell of Waterville, Jason Willer of Columbus and Adam Willer of Cincinnati; great grandchildren, Samantha & Allie Rae Trammell, London Vorraber and Leah Taylor; sisters, Madge Giedeman of Fremont and Barbara (Gerald) Lindstrom of Howard, OH; stepmother, Mary Willer of Clyde; caregivers and special friends, Cindy (Jerry) Gillmor, Sandy & Dana Harrison and Jackie Wettrich. He also had a large group of friends he made over the years with all his various interests.

George was preceded in death by his parents and son, David in 2000.

Visitation will be on Monday, June 4, 2012 from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at the Herman-Kinn-Karlovetz Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Fremont. Services will be held on Tuesday at the funeral at the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. with Pastor William McConnell officiating. Burial will follow at Four Mile House Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Parkinson's Foundation, Sandusky County Cancer Care Fund or the Mobile Meals of Memorial Hospital in George's memory.
