Lynn Fant

Funeral services honoring the life of Lynn Fant, 60, of West Monroe, LA will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, June 8, 2012 at Kilpatrick Funeral Home of West Monroe, LA with Dr. George Wortham officiating. Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Thursday, June 7, 2012 at Kilpatrick Funeral Home of West Monroe, LA.

Lynn Fant was born on June 13, 1951 in Talladega, AL and passed away on June 5, 2012 after a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer. Lynn was a faithful Christian servant of our Lord Jesus Christ and was a member of Highland Presbyterian Church where he served as an elder.

Lynn worked as a counselor for JTPA.

He was a member of his church choir and a former member of the Masterworks Choir in Monroe. His creative and artistic talents were admired by many.

Lynn was preceded in death by his parents, Coach Lenny Fant and Jo Hethcox Fant.

He is survived by his sister, Wanda Fant Smith and her husband, Vance Smith; nephews, Brandon Cruse, Bo Smith and wife, Megan and daughter Madison and nieces, Janna Smith and Shawna Smith Jones and her husband, Mark and children, Vivien Grant and Seth Jones; as well as his loving and devoted friend, Dr. Ruth Smith and family friends, Barney and Lauretta Tucker.

Lynn had a loving and gentle spirit and was loved by all who knew him. He was devoted to his family, friends, and his church. His trust and faith in his Lord gave him the courage to fight and accept God's will for his life. He will be missed by those whose lives he touched throughout his life.

Memorials may be made to: The Lenny Fant Scholarship Program, The American Cancer Society, or Highland Presbyterian Church.

Pallbearers will be: Brandon Cruse, Bo Smith, Barney Tucker, Trevor Melder, Chris Michaelides, and Eric Pani.

Honorary pallbearers are: John Kelly, Jim Gregory, Frank Kistler, and Jack Dement.

Wanda and Vance,
I am so sorry to hear of Lynn's death. I know you both are devastated at losing Lynn with so much of life still before him. I pray that all he did good will be the remembrance for him as it has been for his parents to you both.

I worked with Lynn over 20 years at JTPA and WorkForce Investment. He was loved by all that knew him. He loved art and making decorations etc. I will truly missed my friend. I give my condolescences to his family; and keep you in my prayers. God bless you.

So sorry to hear about Lynn. I worked with him when the JTPA office partnered with the La Workforce Commission/unemployment office. Lynn would use a desk in my room when he would come in to the office when we were on N 18th. Enjoyed talking to him. He was a nice guy and very talented. I will keep his family in my prayers.
