Ruby Ainsworth Obituary

Ruby Ainsworth

Funeral Services for Ruby Mae Motley Ainsworth, 66, of Calhoun, LA will be held at 10:00AM Thursday, June 23, 2016 in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe with Rev. Floyd Duchesne and Rev. Shane Creech officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Calhoun.

Ruby was born on May 19, 1950 in Oak Grove, LA and lost her battle to cancer on June 19, 2016 in El Dorado, AR. Ruby worked at National Optical for ten years, until she found the job she loved as a Special Education Aide at Central Elementary. Ruby fought the fight until the very end. She never complained and took every chemo treatment, different trials, and radiation with a smile on her face. The Lord knew she was tired and took her home. We would like to thank everyone who sent cards and letters to our mom. It really brightened up her day. We will be forever grateful for the love you showed her. Special thanks to LifeTouch Hospice House in El Dorado, Arkansas. She is preceded in death by her parents, John Morris Motley and Myrtle C. Motley.

Left to treasure her memories are her Spouse of 47 years who she loved so much, James E. Ainsworth; Three children, Malissa Pennington and husband, Benny Pennington, Patricia Young and husband, Michael Young, and Christopher Ainsworth; very special granddaughter, Abby Ainsworth; ten grandchildren: Jake Pennington, Blake Pennington and wife, Debb, Ashley Parks and husband, Jordan, Cody Pennington, Nicholas Young, Matthew Young, Abby Ainsworth, Gabriel Rose, Lilly Ainsworth, and Zoey Ainsworth; Seven great-grandchildren, Braylen, Anna Grace, Belicia, Loreali, Isaac, Payton and Willow; Two brothers, Bill Motley and wife, Gloria Motley, and Richard Motley; and many special nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Jake Pennington, Blake Pennington, Cody Pennington, Jordan Parks, John Edward Motley, and Ronnie Ainsworth. Honorary Pallbearers will be Christopher Ainsworth and Benny Pennington.

Visitation will be held from 5:00PM until 8:00PM Wednesday, June 22, 2016 at Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe.

Mom wanted to make sure everyone knew to come as you are. No need to dress up.

As I think back, my memory of Ruby began in the later 1960's. My husband was in Vietnam and I was living in Lake Providence, LA. I was teaching a Sunday School class in which Ruby was a member. She asked and spoke frequently about my brother James. Even then, I felt that she was in love with him. Through the last several years, James talked about neither he nor Ruby ever leaving there house without the other. I will never forget, and will always be grateful for the care she gave my mother several years before my mother passed away. Ruby and James always had time and love for everyone. Ruby is now in the arms of Jesus where she will never suffer again. We miss you Ruby, but you will always remain in our hearts and thoughts.
