All "south siders" knew Howie as a great sportsman!.. Not sure whether he knew Tom Nass, another great pitcher from Oshkosh. Would really have been something to see both in a game. Good time and memories to grow up in...GOD BLESS!

To the Koplitz Family: Mr. Koplitz was a hero of mine when I was growing up. He was one of my favorite pitchers with the Washington Senators. He was always very kind to the kids at the stadium posing for photos and signing autographs. I had the occasion to correspond with him a few years back and he was the same kind, wonderful person. I feel honored that I had the chance to meet him and see him play. I extend my deepest sympathy to the family of this fine man.

I am so saddened for your loss. I will forever miss walking my dog Wrigley past the house, waving and saying "HI" to Howie sitting in his chair on the porch as we walked by on those warm summer nights. His smile was amazing and Wrigley would wag her tail extra hard when he called her name. Your family is in my thoughts and prayers.

Our sympathy goes out to Karen and family.
I worked with Howie for many years. He was a great worker and a good friend.
I have a SIGNED minor league player of the year from Howie. It is just a bit higher on my wall than my signed Mickey Mantle card. He'll always be my baseball hero.
