Ruth Titzkowski Obituary

Ruth C. Titzkowski, age 98, of Oshkosh passed away on Saturday, January 30, 2016, at Park View Health Center with her family by her side. She was born on November 29, 1917, in Oshkosh, the daughter of the late Edward and Alvina (Bathke) Hecker. She was united in marriage on April 10, 1944, to Alvin H. Titzkowski. Their marriage was blessed with two children. Ruth was a lifelong member at St. John Lutheran Church, Oshkosh. She served as the financial secretary for the church for 30 years. She also was a volunteer at Mercy Medical Center for 30 years. Ruth enjoyed baking and cooking for family and friends. She was always eager to play card with her friends and to participate in bingo at Park View. Nothing gave her greater joy than her granddaughters.

Ruth is survived by her two children, Jill Backus of Cato, WI and Thomas (Carol) Titzkowski of Combined Locks,WI; three grandchildren: Ellen (David) Boldt of Waunakee, WI; Laura (Dylan) Rodgers of Appleton and Ann (fiancé Dan Farber) Titzkowski of Middleton; and two great-grandsons, Henry and Peter Boldt; and one sister-in-law, Tammy Hecker of Redgranite, WI. She is further survived by many nieces and nephews. Ruth was preceded in death by her husband Alvin, (September 7, 1980); one brother Carroll Hecker, and son-in-law, Larry Backus. The Funeral Service will be at 2:00 pm on Thursday, February 4, 2016 at Konrad-Behlman Funeral Homes-Westside, 100 Lake Pointe Dr. with Pastor Thomas Koenig officiating. Friends and family may visit at the funeral home from 1:00 pm until the time of service. Private interment will take place at Riverside Cemetery.

The family would like to give a special thank you to her devoted sister-in-law, Tammy Hecker, and the caring staff at Park View Health Center, Prairie Side 1, for all their love and support that was given to Ruth. Your kindnesses will never be forgotten.
